Welcome!

Welcome to Khwendo Kor's blog! This blog has been created for the purpose of promoting hand made items  crafted by the women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

Khwendo Kor (KK) is from the Pashto language which means "Sister's Home". It is a non-partisan organization registered in 1993 under the societies act 1860.

KK works in villages of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan, where health, education and income generation facilities are either non existent or dysfunctional.

One of the thematic areas of Khwendo Kor is Sustainable Livelihood, where we work with marginalized communities and develop linkages of the communities having small businesses by facilitating them to find markets for their products.

This blog will regularly be updated with snaps of products that the community is making, majority of which would comprise of items made from the local bush known as "Mazri" because it is found abundantly in and around the villages of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Please help us support the cause and in the struggle to fight poverty in Pakistan.

  1. I would like to appreciate the Handi Crafts work of khwendo Kor done under the thematic area Sustainable Lively Hood. The products are beautiful with a fantastic colour combination and are very useful in daily life. This program will definitely help to remove the poverty in rural areas where women have the skills but they are unable to utilise it. I wish the team all the best and admire their hard work towards this noble cause.
